You’ve invested time and money into your website, but it’s just not giving back what you want. So, what do you do? Don’t start over from scratch yet—we’ve got a few tips to help boost your website’s SEO, user friendliness, and lead generation.

 1. Make sure your site is mobile-friendly.

In 2024, over 53% of marketers ranked mobile devices as the most used device by their website visitors and over 73% of online shoppers used smartphones to make their purchases. That trend won’t stop in 2025. If your site isn’t mobile-friendly, you could be reducing your website traffic by a huge margin. Website elements might need to be redesigned to scale for mobile, but don’t worry—we can help with that and it makes a huge difference!

2. Audit your website for accuracy and readability regularly.

No one wants to visit a site and comb through out-of-date information. Regular updates can help search engine algorithms see your site is not stagnant, and condensing your website copy can make the user experience more direct. If you’re annoyed with reading it, then you can bet your audience is, too! Break up copy to make it more skimmable and digestible for your audience. You should also periodically check that basic info like your business address, hours, contact information, and services or products are still correct.

PRO TIP: If your customer has to take more than 5–10 seconds to find the information they want, you’ve lost them!

3. Incorporate calls to action frequently.

Use frequent (but tasteful) calls to action throughout your site. Utilizing primary and secondary calls to action can guide your audience to act, whether it’s “Buy Now” or “Learn More.” You can use buttons, hyperlinked text, and signup forms to encourage users to take action!

PRO TIP: Utilize secondary calls to action for people who aren’t quite ready to jump in. Provide useful resources your audience wants before committing, in exchange for their contact info. This could be a newsletter, a downloadable checklist, or a discount on your products. Once you have this you can start sharing more relevant information, tools, or opportunities with them. Just make sure you’re providing something they want, and any communication is CANSPAM Compliant

4. Make your site distraction-free.

Your website should be easy to browse and understand. Don’t over-clutter with loud graphics, animations, and other elements that will slow down your site and overwhelm your visitors. Make sure your messaging is clear and concise, and your web design and branding is consistent.

5. Optimize for search results with metadata and alt text, and monitor performance.

Optimize your website by adding meta descriptions and image alt text while also monitoring your website metrics. Meta descriptions and alt text improve SEO, accessibility, and user experience by providing clear, relevant information about your content. At the same time, reviewing key website metrics—like bounce rates, page views, and traffic sources—helps you understand how users interact with your site and where improvements are needed. High bounce rates may signal slow load times or unclear content, while highly viewed pages reveal what resonates with your audience. Utilizing tools like Google Analytics can help you track and refine for a stronger online presence.

Making your website perform better doesn’t have to be rocket science. Incorporating just these five tips can improve your site’s SEO, your audience’s experience, generate more leads, and help you see where your site is performing well or where it can be improved.
